It has a western handle that is made from Pakkawood, which is a high-end Japanese material that is hand-carved and then treated to achieve a beautiful, uniform texture. This results in a knife that looks and feels superb in both quality and texture. The blade combines the flat, sliding edge of a Nakiri perfectly with the length and slight curvature of a traditional chef's knife.
